Old Time AA Program

Here’s where it all began! The HOME of AA! Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith and his wife, Anne, sat around this kitchen table and realized a real life miracle taking place. Bill and Bob were staying sober! From this modest house in Akron Ohio, the AA message eventually carried to millions around the world.

It’s up to US, today’s AAs, who now share in the miracle of sobriety to make sure Dr. Bob’s Home stays with us forever!

Join us for food, fellowship, a fact and fun-filled day of great speakers that benefits Dr. Bob’s Home, its restoration and our AA heritage.

Dr. Bob's House

855 Ardmore Ave
Akron, OH

The first AA meeting - 855 Ardmore Avenue in Akron, Ohio - the home of Dr. Bob and Anne Smith, where with Bill Wilson the Godseed of Alcoholics Anonymous was planted.

Dr. Bob’s Home is a pilgrimage for thousands of AAs every year during our Founders’ Day Celebration in June. You walk up 12 steps (yes, there ARE actually 12!) leading to the front door where you are welcomed HOME by a smiling AA volunteer! This legacy and our history must be preserved for future generations and it’s up to US.

Get Involved

Opportunities for Service

Old time AA is more than just an opportunity to come to a one day event. It is an opportunity to get involved in service. It takes people to organize and coordinate speakers, food, facilities, logistics, communications, program, parking, registrations and stuff. The people who do this kind of service love AA and are excited to be sober. Get involved and you will get know what we are talking about.
